Maxfield - The Prouve Building

I designed and deployed the Sugar Cube custom light fixtures in the historic Prouve building in Los Angeles for a month long showcase.

Jean Prouve has long been an influence to my work, and I was honored to be able to set up the modular, re-deployable Sugar Cubes in one of his buildings. Prouve brought the functionality and utility of re-deployable design as well as the aesthetic of carefully planned manufactured components into the world of architecture. The Sugar Cubes themselves are echo the same utilitarian and aesthetic merger that Prouve’s architecture offers the world.

I designed the layout, deployment and the sequencing of digital animations playing over the lights.
